The Results:
This series looks at the Covid-19 confirmed cases over time to assess if there are increasing or decreasing trends. As you can see, there has yet to be an identified decreasing trend as of 100 days of the pandemic in the US.
Theoretically, if we continue to use this map series, we would expect to see more greens as the number of confirmed cases decreases; however there is ample evidence to confirm the Covid-19 virus is still increasing depsite reports of the flattening of the curve. the key is to break these areas into smaller geographic areas to view the trends more precisely.

The Results:
This series looks at the Covid-19 confirmed cases over time to identify the emerging hot spots in the US over time. As this time series shows, consistent and emerging hot spots continue to dominate the hot spots. As this series was a 5 day, 1 neighborhood time step, we are essentially looking back in time to the prior week to evaluate what is hot.
These maps also align with the reporting of what cities and areas have had consistent outbreaks.
